Each alternator starts with a full cleaning and media blasting of the case. If you are running aftermarket gauges, stereo, larger fuel pumps, auxiliary lighting, mini battery, etc this is a very worthwhile upgrade. We can upgrade both FD and FC alternators. Our 140 amp upgrade significantly improves the charging system’s capacity. The stock FD alternator is rated at 90 amps, which is adequate for stock cars. Whether you cut that connector off or just leave it hanging is up to you (I prefer to just leave it tied up out of the way). Preface: When the following procedure is complete, the ORANGE/BLACK factory alternator wire WILL NOT BE USED.
Also, as for the cost of the kit, take the pulley to a machine shop and ask them what it would cost to machine one out. I emailed him 3 or 4 times and always got a prompt, informative reply back.
